THE EXHIBITION OF STUDENTS OF THE IMAGE DESIGN STUDY PROGRAMME

IN WONDERLAND… MAD WITHIN A HAT!

Young and old are familiar with Lewis Carroll’s “Alice in Wonderland and the Kingdom of the Mirror” fairy tale. Literary scholars and biographers still debate what prompted the eccentric mathematics teacher, who wrote several mathematical works, to create a work of fiction which has become popular all over the world.

Unsurprisingly, this fairy tale captivated the creative director Tim Burton to make a screen adaptation of the fairy tale “Alice in Wonderland” in 2010. Character Hatter is no less striking than Alice herself in the director’s interpretation of the fairy tale.

The Image Design Study Programme students of the Academy of Arts of the Faculty of Arts and Education of Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution focus on Him – the colourful and charming Hatter. Students created new Hatters characters and independently carried out artistic image shoots, telling unexpected stories of a special hat and its owner, which are comic, playful and magical.
