Cvetka Hojnik,
a recognized Slovenian artist that can be identified by black paintings with different textures, born in Murska Sobota, currently lives and creates in Lendava, Slovenia. Graduated from the Ljubljana University Faculty of Science and Technology, Department of textiles, then studied contemporary painting techniques at the Academy of Fine Arts of Ljubljana University. Her master thesis En Soph, Assemblages and Texturing through the Fractals of Kabala was rated the highest grade.
She is presenting her work at many solistic and group exhibitions in Slovenia and abroad. Received numerous awards and recognitions: Awards for Creativity by the Association of Fine Artists of Maribor (2006 and 2014, 2019), a Special award at the Spatial Homage show in Italy (2007), a large Purchase award at the “Ex Tempore” in Piran on the topic of Soline (2009) as well as an acknowledgment by the Mayor Anton Balazek for achievements in the field of culture at home and abroad (2013). In 2019 she was awarded the Gran prix of the exhibition “Žene slikari”(women painters) in Majdanpek, Serbia; 2020 a special award from the expert jury at the 3rd International Biennial of Miniature on Paper in Prijedor, Bosnia and Herzegovina and 2021 two awards of the expert jury, at the international exhibition in Zagreb, Croatia and at the international biennal Nude in Montenegro.
In addition to her artistic work, she has been also involved in educational work, teaching drawing and art theory at the Higher Vocational Wood Technology and Design College in Maribor and at Graphic design school in Murska Sobota.
She is a member of the Fine Artists Association of Maribor and of Slovenia, the Austrian Association of Fine Artists and the Society of International Free Artists.
